v15.12draft1

This is the first public release of the Seattle Transit Map. This version depicts service effective in September 2015 and the soon to open Seattle Streetcar First Hill Line.

Known issues

  • Only the city-wide map is considered “style-complete”. The other maps still have rough edges that need to be polished in terms of presentation.
  • The content of the other maps also have not been under as much scrutiny as the city-wide map.
  • Text labels and icons may have shifted after a change in font
  • Position of route numbers shown on 3 Av downtown transit spine may not reflect extent to which that route runs (example: Rt 25’s label is north of Stewart.)
  • Peak-only Rt 201 in Mercer Island is missing.
  • Inconsistent spacing between route lines due to earlier change in how regular routes combine for frequent service.
  • Downtown regular route lines still in previous combined/highlight style.
  • Erratic positioning of continuation labels ported from poster version of map
  • Label for South Park neighborhood missing.
  • Direction of Rt 7’s Rainier Beach loop needs to be reversed.
  • Greyhound label on Downtown inset map is cut off.
  • Explanation of through routing needs to be revised. Calling it a “transferless transfer” is really clever.
  • Night Owl hours of service need to be revised to “1:30 to 4:30 am” per Metro public timetable.
  • Need to add note on Regional map indicating “additional fare may apply for travel outside city limits”.

Print edition

This version will be printed in a small test run for review. Printing of this version is funded by the Seattle Department of Transportation as a pilot project to evaluate the feasibility of a city transit map.
